Whether your business uses FTTC, FTTN, HFC or FTTP, a simple power cycle of the NBN box and your router can often fix common connection issues. Below, we’ve put together clear, step-by-step reboot instructions for every NBN technology type to help you get back online faster. How to reboot NBN – FTTC

Follow these steps to reboot NBN FTTC connection:

  1. Locate the FTTC NBN box.

  2. Remove the power cable from the back.
  3. Count to 10 and plug this back in.
  4. Allow between 5 and 10 minutes for the device to boot.
  5. Check to see if the internet has been restored.
  6. If you still do not have internet, locate your router and remove the power cable from the back.
  7. Count to 10 and plug this back in.
  8. Allow between 5 and 10 minutes for the device to boot.
  9. Check to see if your internet has been restored.
  10. If you still do not have internet, please submit a ticket and tell us in the ticket what lights are currently on your FTTC NBN box and router.

How to reboot NBN – FTTN

Follow these steps to troubleshoot your FTTN NBN connection:

  1. Locate your router. In some cases, you may also have an additional smaller device called an FTTN bridge device, with a telephone cable connected to it and a network cable running to your main router.
    Your FTTN bridge device may be branded as Draytek Vigor, TP-Link or D-Link.
  2. Remove the power cable from the back of the router and/or the FTTN bridge device.
  3. Count to 10 and plug the power cable back in.
  4. Allow between 5 and 10 minutes for the devices to boot.
  5. Check to see if your internet has been restored.
  6. If you still do not have internet, please submit a ticket and include which lights are currently on your router and/or FTTN bridge device.

How to reboot NBN – HFC

Follow these steps to troubleshoot your HFC NBN connection:

  1. Locate the HFC NBN box.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot your FTTP NBN connection:

  1. Locate the FTTP NBN box.

  3. Count to 10 and plug it back in.
  4. Allow between 5 and 10 minutes for the device to boot nbn.

  7. Count to 10 and plug this back in.
