NEC Phone System Support

Still using an NEC SL1100, SL2100 or SV9100 phone system? Databox Solutions can help keep your system running, we do fault-finding, programming changes, handset support and ongoing maintenance.

We support businesses Australia-wide and can also help you plan a smooth move to cloud when the time is right.

NEC Phone System Support

NEC Is Leaving the Phone System Business. We’re Not Leaving You.

NEC has announced it is winding down its on-premises phone system business worldwide, with hardware sales ending and vendor support gradually being withdrawn. If your business runs an NEC SL1100, SL2100, SV8100 or SV9100, nothing stops working overnight — but every year it gets harder to source parts, licences and technicians who know these systems.

That’s where Databox Solutions comes in. We’ve installed, programmed and repaired NEC phone systems for years, we hold spare parts and handsets, and our technicians service NEC systems across Brisbane, South East Queensland and Melbourne. Whether you want to keep your NEC running or start planning a move to the cloud, we’ll look after you either way.

How We Keep Your NEC Phone System Online

NEC Faults & Repairs

Dead handsets, dropped lines, no dial tone, voicemail failures, we diagnose and repair NEC system faults fast, on-site or remotely, and get your team back online.

Programming Changes

Staff changes, new call flows, updated greetings, hunt groups and night modes, we make NEC programming changes without the callout drama.

Parts & Handsets

We source NEC handsets, expansion cards and licences while stock remains available, so a single failed part doesn’t force a premature system replacement.

Upgrade Planning

When the time is right, we’ll map your NEC extensions, numbers and call flows onto a modern cloud system, keeping everything your team relies on.

NEC Systems We Support

  • NEC SL2100: support, repairs, licences and handsets (see our NEC SL2100 user guide)
  • NEC SL1100: fault repair, programming and parts
  • NEC SV9100 / SV8100: support for larger UNIVERGE deployments
  • NEC Aspire & XN120: legacy support and managed migration off end-of-life hardware
  • NEC digital & IP handsets: replacements and reconfiguration

Running an NEC model that isn’t listed? Chances are we’ve worked on it, get in touch and we’ll confirm on the spot.

Security Matters Too

Unpatched legacy PBXs are an increasingly common target for toll fraud and intrusion. We’ve written about cyberattacks on NEC phone systems and how to harden them, if your NEC system hasn’t been reviewed in a while, we’ll check it as part of any support visit.

When You’re Ready: A Clear Path to Cloud

You don’t have to replace a working NEC system today. But because NEC is exiting the market, every NEC owner needs a plan. Ours is simple:

  1. Keep you online now: repairs, parts and programming for as long as your system serves you well.
  2. Plan the move together: we document your numbers, extensions, call flows and integrations.
  3. Migrate without disruption: We can port your numbers to a VoIP phone system or Microsoft Teams Calling, reuse compatible cabling and headsets, and cut over outside business hours.

NEC Phone System FAQs

Is NEC discontinuing its phone systems?

Yes. NEC has announced its withdrawal from the on-premises phone system market globally, with hardware sales ending and vendor support winding down over the coming years. Existing systems keep working, but parts and vendor support become harder to get over time.

Can I still get support for my NEC SL2100 or SL1100?

Yes. Databox Solutions provides ongoing support, repairs, programming and parts for NEC SL1100 and SL2100 systems across South East Queensland and Melbourne, independent of NEC’s own timeline.

Do I have to replace my NEC phone system now?

No. If your system is healthy, we can keep it running and simply put an upgrade plan on the shelf for when you need it. We’ll tell you honestly when repair stops making financial sense.

Can I keep my phone numbers if I move off NEC?

Yes. We port your existing numbers, including 1300/1800 numbers to your new cloud or VoIP service, so customers never notice the change.

What should I replace an NEC phone system with?

Most NEC owners move to a hosted VoIP system or Microsoft Teams Calling, which remove the hardware end-of-life problem entirely. We’ll recommend the best fit based on your call volumes, sites and budget.

NEC Down? Or Just Planning Ahead?
