Loganholme is part of the City of Logan which is bordered by Brisbane, Gold Coast, Redland, Ipswich and Scenic Rim local government areas. Logan City comprises of urban, rural and semi-rural environments, has about 70 suburbs and covers 957 square kilometres. Today Logan City has a community that represent around 218 different nationalities, over  27% of residents born overseas.

The area was originally settled by cane farmers with the first farmhouse built in 1800’s.  In more recent times it has become an established residential area, but still retains its some of its rural charm with some large acreage properties and beautiful country views. The climate can almost be described as sub-tropical with an average maximum temperature: 26° C and an average minimum temperature: 15° C – though the temperature can be regularly much warmer in January and February averaging about 30°+ and July dropping down to an average of 10°.

The Loganholme community is fortunate to have the Alexander Clark Park at our doorstep. It’s perfect for families with young kids who love to explore, as well as those looking for a place to meet friends and enjoy some quality time together. Run by the Logan City Council There are plenty of play areas set up throughout the park, including an adventure playground that will keep your little ones entertained all day long. The forest area has blue gum trees that provide shade on hot days.  The park has ample space for running around, while there are also picnic tables to enjoy a morning tea or picnic lunch.

Alexander Clarke Park offers a great range of facilities and activities including  playgrounds, walking, bike tracks, canoe & kayak access, a dog “off -leash” area, basketball court, disc golf, fitness equipment, as well as barbeques, (wood), picnic tables, toilets for patrons with disabilities. The playground is available so that kids can enjoy some time on their own while parents take care in relaxing at one or more nearby tables and benches.

The best thing about this park is it’s never too crowded – no matter what time of year you visit there’ll be plenty of room for everyone.

If you’re looking for something different, then come to Nielsen’s Native Nursery and find this magical hidden gem that offers an interactive aquarium with nurse sharks and stingrays!

This is quite a unique experience that’s educational and fun for all ages. You’ll get to interact in the water with friendly rays and sharks up close in the water — learn about these fascinating creatures while touching or holding them.  All species of rays and sharks, all rescued from the nets of trawlers.

The Shark and Ray Gardens is suitable for people of all ages. You can get up close to these amazing animals or sit on the side, watch them interact with each other.  Bookings essential – open Thursday to Sunday and every day in the school holidays for an educational interactive experience, some including feedings. Feedings are from the side of the pool using feeding sticks after the experience. Time slots are 10.50, 11.50, 12.50 and 1.50pm.

Logan Hyperdome Shopping Centre

The Logan Hyperdome Shopping Centre in Shailer Park, Queensland, is the one of the largest shopping centres on Brisbane’s Southside. This place has it all for families; from clothes to groceries and toys to gifts, with major retailers including Aldi, JB Hi-Fi, K-Mart, Peter Alexander, Robins Kitchen, Rockmans and Priceline Pharmacy. The centre was upgraded in 2005 to include the Event Cinemas to 12  (previously ‘Pacific 8’) and a new bowling alley (AMF Hyperbowl), another carpark and several restaurants and bars in the newly constructed piazza area on the South-side of the shopping complex.
